JONATHAN MILAN WINS STAGE 1 OF THE UAE TOUR AND WEARS THE FIRST RED JERSEY
Liwa Palace, 17 February 2025 – Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) has won stage 1, the Shams Power Company Stage, of the 7th edition of the UAE Tour, ahead of Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Finn Fisher-Black (RedBull – Bora – Hansgrohe).
Jonathan Milan is also the first Red Jersey of the race as he leads the General Classification.

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner and Red Jersey Jonathan Milan said: “I feel brutally tired after this sprint. The warmth and the last 700 metres of the race have made it really tough, more than I was thinking. It was a pretty intense day with echelons and attackers to bring back. I must thank my guys. They controlled, supported me and led me to the final stretch. I’m super happy with this victory, it was so hard! Tomorrow we’ll try to defend the lead”.
